MICROSONIC

Commissioned in March 2026 for the biannual ‘Dear Agnes’ contemporary public art exhibition at Truganina Explosives Reserve in Altona, Melbourne, Australia, MicroSonic invited audiences into an intimate sonic encounter that attunes to the 'unhearable' sounds of Altona's soils and waterways. Featuring three hand-painted hanging sound boxes, this delicate audiovisual installation highlighted the hidden aural landscapes of creeks, remnant grasslands and aquatic environments in western Melbourne.

Part meditation, part provocation, part invitation, MicroSonic asked us to reconsider the act of listening as a practice of care and wonder.
